Hi Kate, My daughter is in Korea now, probably she got there right after you left, for the same program. She is now teaching at a school for the blinds in Seoul. I was doing a google search, "fulbright korea healthcare" and your blog came on. Do you know if the insurance you had while you were in Korea covers relatively major surgery? She needs have a hand surgery for her bone conditions... I am debating whether I should have it done Korea or wait until she returns to the U.S. next year. Any information you can provide would be very helpful. Jino,
hi kate, i just worked with HDS and they are very sensitive about photo and name information on their students because as NKD's they can be targeted by undercover communists in s.korea. could you take down any photos and identifying information to those students? i'm sure that other NKD's would also appreciate that extent of protection for their identity while there is still the north and south korea tension and china/usa tensions as well. i'm commenting anonymously for my own protection because i intend to do further ministerial work in this area. sorry, i know that the limitations of anonymity either put it in trolling category or for-real category, but i'm guessing that with your 1 year experience working with NKD's, you have enough exposure to know that what i say is truthful and for the benefit of NKD's.
